Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fak. Patoloji AD 126 cases of Hodgkin's disease (HD) followed in Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Departments of Hematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy between 1975-1984 were histologically re-examined and re-classified according to Rye scheme. 73 of 126 cases were mixed cellularity. Three further histologic subtypes (Grade) of mixed cellularity were determined. Gradind was based on the number of lymphocytes, Reed-Sternberg cells and the presence of fibrosis. In the mixed cellularity group stage and histologic grade correlated with survival, while age did not. All patients in stage I and II survived in the follow-up period. Median survival was 52 months and 33 months for stage III and IV (P=0.05). Median survival was 33 months in Grade I, 52 months in Grade II and 22 months in Grade III (p=0.01). Higher histologic grades were found to be parallel to advanced clinical stage. In conclusion, the most important factors influencing survival in mixed type of Hodgkin's Disease are stage and histologic Grade. Keywords :
