Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fak., Patoloji Anabilim Dalı, İstanbul We evaluated 47 congenital tumors which were diagnosed in our department with the help of biopsies or autopsies within the intrauterin period and the first 3 months of age between the years of 1984 and 1994. The female/male ratio is 2/1. We established that, 40.4% of congenital tumors were teratomas, 21.3% were neuroblastomas, 14.9% were soft tissue tumors, 8.5% were leukemia and lymphoma, and 4.3% were primitive neuroectodermal tumors. We compared our findings with the literature and reviewed the recent opinions on congenital tumors. Keywords :
