SOLID AND PAPILLARY EPITHELIAL NEOPLASM OF THE PANCREAS

Dr. Behçet Uz Çocuk Hastalıkları Hastanesi Patoloji AD. Two cases diagnosed as papillary and solid neoplasm of the pancreas are reported. Both are women, 49 and 58 years old. Tumors, located on the tail and head of the pancreas, are 7 and 9 cm-in diameter, respectively and encapsulated. On cut surfaces, solid and cystic-hemorrhagic areas are seen together. Microscopically, they were composed of small uniform eosinophilic cells forming, solid, pseudopapillary and microcystic areas. In addition to PAS positive intracytoplasmic granules, immunohistochemically NSE and Alfa 1 antitripsin positivity were detected. After surgical treatment, patients are well for 1 and 2 year on follow-up. Keywords : pancreas cancer, immunohistochemistry, papillary neoplasia
