PLEURAL SOLITARY (LOCALISED) FIBROUS TUMOR: A CASE REPORT
Yedikule Göğüs Hastalıkları ve Göğüs Cerrahisi Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi 3. Cerrahi Kliniği, İstanbul
A 47-year old female patient was admitted to our clinic with complaints of chest pain, respiratory insufficiency and palpitation. In the radiology, in the upper lobe posterior segment of the left lung, a pulmonary mass with a diameter of 7 cm was observed in plain chest radiography. A tru-cut biopsy was performed. Histology revealed fibrocollagenisation. Since a tumor with mesenchimal origin was expected, an upper lobe wedge resection and extirpation of the mass were performed. In the pathological evaluation, the mass was diagnosed as a benign solitary fibrous tumour of the pleura.
