Nöroşirurji Anabilim Dalı, Dokuz Eylül Üni. Tıp Fak. İzmir
24 Consecutive patients with supratentorial high-grade glial tumors were treated between August 1991 and March 1994 with surgery and radiotherapy in Dokuz Eylül University Medical School in the departments of Neurosurgery and Radiation Oncology. The survival of those patients were analysed according to the same prognostic factors retrospectively. The prognostic factors which were analysed are: age, sex, duration of symptoms, presence of fits, extend of surgical resection, locations of tumors histopathological properties and post-operative neurological performance after the operation. The patients were younger than age 45, has short duration of symptoms before surgery, tumor localisation in the frontal lobe and had incomplete resection were found to be short survival. There was no statistical significance between each group.
